Hampshire County Council has a policy of investing in walking and cycling infrastructure in urban areas.
I was recently asked by a resident:
Would you support a separate cycle path for kids who want to ride into Testbourne school?
This was my reply:
I fully support Hampshire County Council's 20 year Transport Plan, http://www3.hants.gov.uk/local-transport-plan.htm, which includes the following policy objective statement:
"Policy Objective 12: Invest in sustainable transport measures, including walking and cycling infrastructure, principally in urban areas, to provide a healthy alternative to the car for local short journeys to work, local services or schools; and work with health authorities to ensure that transport policy supports local ambitions for health and well-being."
